New! Free webinar series

Strengthening the Teacher Workforce

Seven free webinars featuring Florida district examples, practical resources, and a step-by-step process for strengthening teacher recruitment and retention.

The series begins with a kickoff on workforce stability, then moves through the work district leaders and human resources teams can use to better understand their workforce challenges, identify where to focus, test strategies, and plan for implementation.

Move from a broad workforce challenge to a focused plan your team can act on.

Each session builds on the one before it. District teams can follow the full sequence or join the sessions that match where they are in the work.

Session 1

Beyond the Vacancy: Why Districts Can’t Recruit Their Way to Workforce Stability

Filling teacher vacancies is essential, but recruitment alone won’t create a stable teacher workforce. See how Florida districts are looking beyond vacancy counts to uncover what’s driving recruitment and retention challenges and focus their efforts where they can make the greatest difference.

Session 2

Building a Teacher Workforce Data Plan that Drives Action

Build a useful teacher workforce data plan, identify gaps in the information you have, and choose the measures that can help your team better understand its recruitment and retention challenges.

Session 3

Defining the Problem: Moving from Data to Action

Turn a broad workforce concern into a specific, evidence-supported problem statement your team can act on.

Session 4

Using Stakeholder Voice to Refine the Problem

Plan and conduct listening sessions, use what you hear alongside workforce evidence, and refine the problem your team is working to address.

Session 5

Identifying Root Causes: Moving from Symptoms to What’s Actually Driving the Problem

Distinguish symptoms from root causes, examine the factors contributing to a recruitment or retention problem, and determine which causes your district can address.

Session 6

Designing a Prototype: Planning a Small-Scale Test of Your Workforce Strategy

Design a small-scale test of a teacher workforce strategy, decide what your team needs to learn, and collect evidence that can inform the next decision.

Session 7

Planning for Implementation: Building Your Action Plan and Securing Leadership Buy-In

Turn what your team has learned into a plan you can carry out by defining responsibilities, building leadership support, and deciding how you’ll monitor progress.
